Throughout Summer 2013, Lorna will be touring a recital of British and American song, with pianist Tom Henderson. There are performances across the country, from London to Leeds. More details on venues/locations can be found on the Dates/venues page.
Repertoire includes a complete performance of Aaron Copland's song cycle Twelve Poems of Emily Dickinson, a piece that Lorna and Tom have wanted to perform together for some time. The programme also includes Benjamin Britten's Four Cabaret Songs, and the WORLD PREMIERE of a new song cycle of Elizabeth Barrett Browning sonnets by emerging composer, Michael Betteridge, entitled Except for Love's Sake Only. Songs from Purcell, Elgar and Bernstein complete an evening of some of the best vocal music from both sides of the Pond.
